Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

We have had a great year. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary on Dec 18. We went out for sushi and drank a bottle of plum wine. We almost needed to call a cab to get home. Quite a bit has happened since last Christmas. We went to Vegas and got married last Dec 18 and then spent about a week in Mexico. Here are some pictures.

Then we came back and had a big party/reception in Lincoln in January.

We stayed busy last spring and this summer taking classes and working. Beckie finished her Masters degree in History from Nebraska Wesleyan just a few weeks ago, and is happy to not have to take classes for a while. Heath, on the other hand, still has a way to go. He has to take 3 more classes, take comps, and write a dissertation and then he will have his PhD in Instructional Technology and Online Learning. He thinks it will take about 2 more years.

Heath rode in a century (109 mile) bike race in Tucson this fall. He raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (he raised over $5000), and traveled with the Nebraska team to ride in the First Magnus 20th Annual El Tour de Tucson. It was amazing, and he received a silver medal, finishing 3000 and something out of 9000 riders. Here are pics from the race in Tucson. You can also check out his biking blog (yes Heath is a nerd, he has two blogs).

While all of this was going on, we added to our family. We got another (for a total of 3) dog in February. Oliver is a 2 year old Brittany Spaniel. And this last July we saved a tiny homeless kitten off the street. We had to bottle feed him for a while, but he is healthy now. His name is Leroy. Here is our holiday picture of Artie, Parker, Leroy, and Oliver. We are done having "kids" for a while.

We hope you all are happy and healthy and enjoying the holiday season. Email any time you like and keep in touch.

Three dogs, and a cat! You have quite the family. If I was the cat, I might feel a little uneasy!
